Attorney Amber Hines joined the firm in 2000 and is now a Partner at Nuzzo & Roberts, LLC. She received her J.D., cum laude, in 1999 from Quinnipiac University School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from The College of New Rochelle. While in law school, Ms. Hines was an associate editor of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal and author of a published article. She was also the recipient of an Academic Achievement Award for her overall academic performance. In addition, she received Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards in several courses.

Attorney Hines was admitted to the Connecticut State Bar in 1999 and was admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut in 2004. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Attorney Hines also served as a research clerk to Judges of the Connecticut Superior Court. She practices in insurance coverage, bad faith, professional liability and appellate litigation. She specializes in policy analysis for a wide array of personal, commercial and professional lines. She represents insurers in coverage disputes in Connecticut superior, appellate and federal courts. Attorney Hines also defends insurers against common law bad faith and statutory unfair trade practices claims. She advises and assists insurers with claims handling procedures, liability and damages evaluations and settlement opportunities in order to globally resolve complex coverage and extra-contractual claims. She presents educational and training seminars regarding insurance coverage issues and good faith claims practices.

Attorney Hines also works for the firm's professional liability group defending attorney malpractice claims in which she concentrates in vexatious litigation. Representative cases include Lexington Ins. Co. v. Lexington Healthcare Group, Inc., 2010 WL 745030 (Jan. 26, 2010); and Palazzo v. Delrose, 91 Conn. App. 222(2005).
